Car Goes Up In Flames Near Parkway In Northern Westchester

A vehicle blaze near a parkway in Northern Westchester sent a column of smoke into the air before it was put out by firefighters.

The fire happened in Yorktown on Sunday morning, Aug. 25, when a vehicle was consumed by flames on Underhill Avenue near its crossing with the Taconic State Parkway, according to the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department. 

Arriving fire crews were soon able to extinguish the blaze, the department said. 

No injuries were reported.
